Narrative: Dryari Awakenings

Where lore germinates

To enter sleep, with a limited self-awareness, limited sense of self, only to awake fully aware. To suddenly know you are alive, have a goal, an understanding of what is around you. This is a process that all Dryari go through when they first gain consciousness.

It would be enough to drive panic into any heart, however the gentle reassurances of the Ancient One help to keep the Dryari at peace. It is why the Dryari are so dedicated to the Ancient One. The awakening is not something one forgets.

All Dryari are left alone during their awakening to bond with the Ancient One, and adjust to a new life in tranquility. The Dryari’s purpose is to assist the Ancient One in its mission to grow and expand. The Ancient One teaches how to use natural environments to grow plants infused with Pscillion and entice them to fruit.

Incorporated into the gameplay dynamics, the Dryari’s deep connection with nature means they are able to grow plants using significantly less resources than the other guilds, and their growing facilities are expertly designed for this purpose. Nurturing plants to fruit takes the Dryari longer than others, but the natural process they use allows them to extract more resources from their plants.

The Dryari have been crafting and nurturing new plant and animal species for uncounted generations, long before the other guilds arrived in the Ancient One’s domain. Inspired by the Ancient One’s ever present whispers, they exchange new species of plants with each other to cherish and celebrate her holy life-giving creations. Ever since the arrival of the Crimson Guard and Vaccai, the Dryari have been fascinated at what other growing methods can achieve. They still believe the natural process is the best, however, the benefits of the other guilds’ methods cannot be denied.
